Telemark Skiing
My daughter Jen, who is an ultra runner, said she would be interested in skiing uphill. I told her that if we skied up we had to ski down. So we decided that we needed to learn to telemark. We outfitted ourselves with used Telemark gear. We got Monarch Mountain uphill passes…
We signed up for a Friday Tele Clinic in January and then headed up the North Cottonwood Creek road to try out our skins…
Then we attended the Monarch Tele FESTIVUS so we could catch the tele vibe 😉
We’ve been practicing, trading off between Alpine (thats what Tele skiers call downhill skiing) and Tele.
And just for fun, here is the amazing Eleanor who at almost 4 has started skiing this year!

They told us at the Bears Ears Education Center in Bluff that we had to head over to Muley Point for the great views of the San Juan River and Monument Valley. We were not disappointed…
